The Hallett Engineering Company

a brief history of its founders and principals

The above pictured brass nameplate (circa 1928) was used by my family's firm to identify projects
whose design originated from the minds and drawing boards of the company founded by my great-grandfather,
Edwin S. Hallett.

In the early 1900's, the science of heating and ventilating was in its infancy. Public schools were making the
transition from one or two room structures to multi-story buildings,  modern mercantile trade transformed the
clerk's cubby into a warren of offices heaped upon on another.

So how to heat, ventilate, and secure a healthy indoors?

The Hallett Engineering Company was one of the first to bring engineering to the city gone modern.
